Orchard Marketing Group is Garrick Baxter, dedicated to helping businesses reach their potential through strategic marketing and effective electronic messaging.
Garrick has been involved in traditional marketing and building relationships with customers on a one-to-one basis and in Internet marketing for twelve years.

RadiSys Corporation
In August 2004, Garrick accepted a new opportunity at RadiSys Corporation, an international leading provider of advanced embedded solutions.
He launched the company's first electronic marketing initiatives. He is also the administrator for the company's customer relationship management (CRM) tool - Salesforce.com - which is used by worldwide users in sales, manufacturing, engineering, and customer service. The CRM tool is the only resource for the company's management of multimillion dollar deals, supporting all worldwide marketing campaigns, and creating and maintaining contact relationships.
Finally, Garrick is engaged in a major branding initiative for RadiSys - an initiative that will set RadiSys apart from its competitors by making the industry take notice of the company's great innovation and world-class leadership.

Centric Events presents ITEC
In 2000, Garrick started his tenure at Centric Events in Portland, Oregon. Garrick was responsible for all electronic communications used in the sales and attendance promotion for ITEC, the nation's largest regional technology tradeshow.
With over one million individual connections a year through e-communications with technology executives and professionals, the email and enewsletter campaigns are vital to sustaining brand recognition of the company's overall product in over fifty U.S. cities.
Special electronic communications projects included working for Gateway, Oracle, Siebel, IBM, and Microsoft product launches. Additional responsibilities included launching a new tradeshow brand, market research analysis, web design, and prospecting for sales leads.
Garrick was the Employee of the Year out of an organization of 250 at Centric in his first year of employment.

Starbucks Coffee
In 1994, Garrick started working as a manager for Starbucks Coffee in Minneapolis. He also took charge of managing over 50 events special marketing events in the Twin Cities before being transferred to open the Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh-Durham markets in North Carolina.
In five years with Starbucks Coffee, Garrick was involved with opening 21 stores, managing over 250 special events, and appearing in a dozen TV and radio ads, interviews, and public service announcements. He received the East Coast Region's Employee of the Year Award in 1997.

US Army
In 1988, Garrick enlisted in the Missouri Air National Guard with the intention to fly C130H cargo planes. The Missouri Army National Guard offered a more direct path to flying through the Army ROTC program at Northwest Missouri State University.
A lieutenant's commission was awarded in the junior year of college and a top three percent officers rating was earned in 1991 and 1992 at the 1/135 Aviation Battalion in Warrensburg, MO/Whiteman AFB. Garrick graduated from Armor Officers Basic Course in Fort Knox, KY in 1993 and continued to serve in the US Army Reserves.
Garrick received an Honorable Discharge after 15 years of serving and earned the Army Achievement Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Education and Personal
Garrick is a graduate of Northwest Missouri State University graduating with a BS in psychology with minors in business and military science.
Garrick also earned a professional certification in Integrated Marketing Communications from Portland State University, specializing in market research, emarketing communications, and branding. The professors had experience from firms including Weiden+Kennedy, Nike, adidas, eROI, and Anvil Media.
Garrick has started coursework for a MBA at Western Illinois University as of January 2006. He will complete the MBA through the online program at Texas A&M.
When he's not growing Orchard Marketing Group, he's enjoying time spent with his wife, Rachel, and with his son, Zander. Otherwise, he's at your local softball or baseball stadium taking in America's favorite pasttime. |
